Michelle Gonzalez, CMT
About
Michelle was born into a family of healers. She remembers as a child receiving regular massage and doses of onion tea from her grandparents and credits them for her love of holistic healing-- well, at least the massage part, as she still can't stomach the onion tea.
She began her formal eduction in 1998 as a masseuse at the Central Coast School of Body Therapy in Los Osos, CA, but long before that she was giving massage to her teammates on her high school and college swim team. She used her new skills on friends and work colleagues for a while and then took a (not so brief) break to use her business degree from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo to work in what she calls the "Office Jungle."
In July 2008 she was lovingly shoved back into the beautiful world of massage, and just to make sure she was ready, she returned to school at the McKinnon Institute in Oakland where she brushed up on Swedish Massage and took earned certificates in Deep Tissue and Foot Reflexology. Michelle considers herself passionate about massage and believes she has only scratched the surface of the knowledge that is available in the field. She continues her education in order to become even better at what she already loves so much.
